Kno-Ho-Co-Ashland Dental Clinic
Funding Provided by Medicaid and Private Funding
Serving Ashland County
The
Ashland Dental Clinic was established in 1998 to meet the community need of
affordable dental services to the uninsured and under-insured. During an
Ashland County Community Needs Assessment, it was determined that 85% of
respondents reported they had no dental insurance or that they utilized a
Medicaid card. It was determined that local dentists found it not cost
effective to serve Medicaid patients, and only a small percentage of
patients were receiving dental care with most of those being served out of
the county. The Ashland Dental Clinic now serves Medicaid patients and
charges patients on a sliding-fee scale.
